A quirky and intimate Relais & Chateaux hotel, featuring Asian-themed interiors and uniquely styled rooms with an apartment feel, near the Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Families are welcome in the four connecting suites.
Set on a quiet street just off the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, which is home to a cluster of high-end fashion boutiques and the Élysée Palace – the official residence of the president of France – the hotel is steps from several tourist attractions, including Arc de Triomphe, the Tokyo Palace museum, the Grand Palais as well as the Tuleries Gardens, Plaza de la Concorde and the Eiffel Tower, and a stone’s throw from the Saint Philippe du Roule metro station.
Style & character
Elegant and quaint with an intimate apartment-like feel. Bearing the signature Hausmann architectural style of 19th century France, this Relais & Châteaux hotel’s minimalist cream façade features tall double windows simply dressed with flowers. Its striking Asian-themed interior is furnished with pieces gathered from the Lebanese hotel owners’ travels through Asia. The welcoming garden-themed lobby is decorated with hand-painted floral wallpaper, orchid centrepieces, and paintings of Chinese nobles as well as Asian-style dividers and tasselled bamboo rollup curtains.
Service & facilities
Polite and accommodating, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff at the restaurant Le Daniel.
- Room service
Each of the 26 rooms is uniquely styled around its own colour scheme, featuring hand-painted fabric wallpaper and matching curtains, designed exclusively for the hotel, with illustrations of the Silk Road in 18th century France. Guests on the fifth and sixth floors have views of the Eiffel Tower, while rooms on the second and fifth floors have a small terrace with double door windows from where you can enjoy breakfast during stays in the summer. The bathrooms, made of either Italian marble or Moroccan ceramic tiles, include an urn of sea salts from the Dead Sea for guests to use during the summer.
Food & drink
The lobby’s Oriental garden theme spills into the relaxing Le Daniel restaurant and onto its colourful wall panels of exotic flowers and birds embedded with shimmering mother-of-pearl design. There is a small booth seating area with greenhouse-like glass roofing that creates an airy, naturally-lit space in the morning. An eclectic seasonal menu showcases locally-sourced ingredients such as fresh French cheeses. Other highlights include a light yet flavour rich lobster salad, creamy pasta shells with savoury bites of Iberian ham matured for 36 months, and spicy green wasabi crisps to start. Mains from €27 to €43 (£21-£34).
